Healing Project Mission Statement
We want to learn how to take care of ourselves and how people
take care of others alternatively to western ideas of health. The goals of the Healing Project is to find, experience and name practices to promote a health body, heart and mind, while encouraging a health practice that is not founded on fiscal investment.
Through having a deep understanding of the work being done by healers,we hope to foster our own abilities to live with an eye towards preventative health and move away from utter dependency on Western medicine to be the total cure. We aim to become a resource for specifically the north west region. We want to talk to accredited healers and convey their offerings in way that is clear and formal, to aid readers into their own individual paths to healing in an unbiased fashion.
Ultimately the project is an opportunity to explore personal interests in health, seek out an alternative health community, and share our findings with the greater public in the form of a book first, and foremost, as well as other venues such asĀ workshops and blogs.
Jess Hirsch and Mariah Maines are the co-founders of Portland Healing Project.

I’ll be moving to ptown next year and would love to plug into your network. I’m trying to find a way to offer sessions to those in need without compromising my heart. So many of us cannot afford alternatives, and there must be a way for the bodyworkers to survive while providing service from the Heart. I believe that if we connect and dialogue we can figure out a way to make ends meet while fulfilling a role that all humans need – they need their Medicine People. Please contact me.
Blessings,
matthew
